Flagging
This process is when rows in a database are selected for a particular reason, then for the future they will always be selected for this use. An example of this is if a company has many services they offer, they will only want to send correspondence to individuals who are interested in each specific service. If the individual decides to use a secondary service then they will be flagged on the mailing list to receive future information about the secondary service.
