Cheaper versions are used on a standard personal computer (PC) and can ensure individual emails are sent out to all recipients instead of sending email out to a large list at once. More expensive mailing list software has the same above features, but is normally installed and run on a server to constantly process un-subscription requests and to automatically send out emails at a predefined time.
